Sep 10, 2008--Nikhi started walking few steps alone..he was holding a chair and walking few steps and all of a sudden he started walking alone....
sep 11th mummy pallikaranai veetu grehaprevesam vachirunthanga.. we were all packing and getting ready that night and nikhi started walking few steps alone.. for the first time :)
Mid of sep 2008 By this time nikhi has started walking well and he walks for few mts sits and again walks..but ithukullara evlo vaati keezha vizhunthu vizunthu ezunthu nadakaraan.. from sep20 to sep 30 kulla almost everyday atleast once he fell down..nethi la oru vettu in his left side..rendu pakamum apa apa veengikum..once he fell down and pal pattu nakula irunthu ratham semaya..uthadu veengikum..epadiyavathu adi pattu kuzhanthai azhuvaan.. I was undergoing so much emotional pain and difficulty in bringing him up all alone in this stage...saravanan being in US... and me and nikhil travelling often was really a pain for us... but we have decided to go with saravanan during his second year for sure to US, where he was doing his MBA at USC , Columbia, South Carolina!
  We had fun dressing up Nikhil in girl's frock and skirt :) It was my dream to have a girl baby, but dint even feel bad for a second , that it was a Boy! Enjoyed and still enjoying bringing up a boy:) Jaan pillanaalum aan pillai achey!

 

August 2008

From june we started travelling between chennai and tvmalai often.. Nikhi started calling amma amma nu..so sweet he calls me ..but not in specific he calls me now..may be in few days time he would call me amma specifically..
this kutti paiyan dint start walking without support still..
Ramesh in Tvm was nikhi's best company.. he used to enjoy tmes with ramesh.. he used to take him in bike for rides... nikhil used to go for rides with his ayan also often...
Verandah la nikhil used to try walking but fall down often... He used to go rounds in bike and TVS with ramesh and with his Iyya often!
Nikhil's appa was in US since june and he used to see us in video chat..thanks to skype and gtalk :)
Nikhi was so used to chatting and being online since then.
And about NIkhil Toothing.... he had 6 by this time.. he was 14 months old aug 08..had 6 cute kutti pallu..he used to smile with that :)

And as per Nikhi's aatha advice ..we used to apply so much oil in his head..ennai sekula thalai vita mathri irupaan..but still he used to be very smart! ..I like this snap of Nikhi's very much..my fav one...

Nikhil's first Mottai June 6th 2008 -- karur la karupannaswamy koil la nikhi ku FIRST MOTTAI potachu.. his head was full of verkooru and he cried so much during half of motttai..initial a super a kambichan..lateron started cryng so much.. only few of s went..mottai potutu sami kumpitu veedu vanthom..his machan madi la ukara vachu motai potuchu..no kaathu kuthal as of now nu vitachu..




June 16,2008 -- we all of us mummy,hari anna,sindu,ashok anna, me,saravanan ,nikhil and theertha... First time Movie in a theatre for Nikhi and theerthu.. Santhosh Subramaniam ..too good a movie!

June 28th,2008 - Nikhi's First Birthday :

On Jun 27thWe had a simple but a grand at this level bday party at home..velachery nellai manor aprtmnts.. invited all aprtmnt frnds,my frnds and chithi chitapas.. dinner from KALAVARA hotel..it was quite grand ..ashok anna fully decorated the house with ballons and posters.. hari anna and ashok anna both went ordered food and all..it was all fun except for absence of saravanan... He called up so many times and really seemed like he missed everything badly... he thot he should have atleast left after jun 28th :(



On jun 28th went to tvm and there athai, mama ,akka, tuja, nitin ,tuja appa were all waiting for us again with a cake for nikhil to cut and celebrate :) niki as well tuja had 2 cakes and they enjoyed cutting..and had fun!

New year 2008

Jan 1,2008 - Nikhi appa's birthday with his son for the first time..we gave nikhi a piece of gulab jamun on the new year eve for the first time... Nikhi ,me and his appa were at home in mumbai...
During feb nikhi started eating anything and everything i give..bits of idli dosai poori and all...but he was so thin..weighing 6.67kgs only..
During march 2008 me,nikhil and his appa came to inanganur ,chennai tvm for visit.... we had good time... we for the first time saw theertha too... nikhi's maama ponnu!
Back to Mumbai--- We make nikhi to crawl by keeping mobile phone a few inches away from him..he doesnt actually crawl..but anyways tries and gets the object,..this way we make him try crawling..


We got a walker fromCharkop for nikhi,,,I put nikhi in walker at times wen i do some house hold works... he used to walk from hall to kitchen side..porumaiya... nd poi poi TV stand a mothipaar apa apa... it was a small house we lived in..but a very happy life indeed!
We were in B wing..and there was a Aunty Nithya mother from coimbatore living with her daughter in C wing..she used to visit us often and had good time with her...my mother also went to places in mumbai with nithya aunty...
May 4th 2008 - We came back to chennai from Mumbai ..as Saravanan had got a MBA offer from Moore school of business.. So nikhil appa decided to quit from his job and head towards his MBA dream! We sold our items in mumbai and rest still in TVMalai storeroom ..we left Mumbai worried but still have to keep going ...
Nikhil and me came to chennai ..and nikhi was quite during the flight journey..his appa had got to serve his notice period after resignation and then cam eback to tamilnadu during june first week 2008..
Nikhi appa came to USA on june 18th... he was not with us for nikhils first birthday!!!

Nikhil's First flight travel Nov 17,2007

Nikhi ,me and nikhil paati my mummy ,3 of us travelled to mumbai by flight... was worried if he will cry on the way...i fed him once before starting at 8.25AM in the mornign..as soon as we boarded the flight at 8.30 nikhi started sleeping ,we landed at 10.15 ..he was sleeping even then ..and from airport we reached home at 12.30 PM..he was still sleeping ..nikhil amma great escape.. :)
Nikhi started eating banana from this month on Nov mid....smashed banana and i used to give him cerelac too..
We used to live in West Kandivali,Mumbai in a apartments.. me and mummy used to bring nikhil in stroller downstairs for a walk... he used to enjoy seeing kid play over there... We were here in mumbai till may 2008...

Water and Solid Food

We were staying in tvmalai from Sep mid till oct end and then we were planning to move to Bombay where nikhil appa had got an offer from Morgan Stanley....
24,Oct 2007 -- We were taking nikhi to chennai back from tvmalai...This mrng we went to annamaliar kovil and for girivalam taking nikhi for the first time..after that we started to chennai from tvmalai... 12 o clk we started nikkhi was sleeeping...around 1 o clk he woke up and started crying withotu any reasons... bayangara terror kamichitaan...semaya azhuga arambichu vaaya mudala konjam kooda... so we were helpless...his father was carrying him in the rocker and in shoulders trying to pacify him..nthng worked out.. it was a place called NANGILIKONDAN...there was a A SIVAM MINI MILLS..we went there and there were 2 ppl..asking them we placed nikhil in a kayathu katil there which he was used to ... anga pota udane thambi try panni panni.. kavunthutaar for the first time..and also he was able to hold the kilukilupai in his hands for the first time..we both were so happy for that.. and then after solid 45 mts we started again to chennai...
By the begining of Sep ,nikhi was 6 Kgs ..and we started giving solid food from this month.. Raagi kanji we started giving him from Sep 5th ,2007.

Nikhil's Birth June 28,2007

Nikhil was born on June 28th,2007 at 10.57 AM at Malar Hospital ,Adyar ,Chennai.Dr.NR was my doctor then... I underwent c-section as there was no pain for me even after the due date. His birth star and raasi -Anusha natchathiram ,viruchiga raasi.
We were all so excited on his arrival but i happened to see him close by my side that evening around 6.30 PM same day. His appa was so happy..double happy paiyan poranthathula... I could remember him showing his hands like flying in air coz of his birth..I was inside Post Operative Ward after his birth.He was showing me from outside the glass :) We have now become proud young parents of Nikhil !! Nikhil means COMPLETE... he of course made our life Complete :)
Nikhi's Pediatrician was Dr. G.Prabhakaran , malar hospital .. we take nikhi to him for most of the vaccines and also for regular check ups... he is such a good doctor but alanthu thaan pesuvaar ..we need to wait to hear words from his mouth..but a great doctor he is! We also go to Dr.Mohan velachery pediatrician.
We came home by July 2nd... he was given a bath by Then chithi..his chinna paati... for the first time..
Nikhi's speciality was he used to keep his neck straight like a kokku which other babies would rarely do..he used to move his neck back and front so easily at 2 to 3 days of his birth itself!!
All of us were excited and specially wen i was in my amma veedu... he being the first grand kid... we were all busy running for him and taking care of him... Mummy used to take care of nikhil whole nights... he used to sleep during the day time and awake during night time... i used to sleep and nikhi appa and mummy and ashok mama used to take care of nikhil cuddling him and trying to put him to sleep..
13th Sep 2007 -- first day nikhi had a spoonful of water.. the Elixir of life!

2007

Dec 23 rd 2009 --Nikhi is just 2 and half years old... Me, Manju ..Nikhils Amma...is creating a blog for nikhil to write about his childhood ,places of his stay ,his fun filled memories and his milestones ..and it would be no doubt a great gift wen he enters his teens and later part of his life too!!!! He could even continue the same blog with his life history about his family,wife and kids!!!! Love you a lot nikhi Pattu -- Amma and Appa!
